FAQs
I provide counseling, education, and consultation services for individuals, couples, families, clinicians, and organizations. My work focuses on relationship health, trauma, compulsive sexual behaviors, betrayal recovery, attachment, and emotional resilience. Whether through therapy, professional training, workshops, or consultation, my goal is to help people heal, grow, and create stronger connections with themselves and others.
What services do you offer?
Do you offer in-person or online counseling?
I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments, depending on your location and preferences. Telehealth provides a convenient and effective way to receive support from the comfort of your home.
Getting started is simple. Contact me by phone, email, or through the website contact form to schedule an initial consultation. Together, we'll discuss your goals, answer any questions you may have, and determine the best path forward for your unique situation.
How do I get started?
What makes my approach different is that I see people as more than their struggles. Rather than focusing on labels or shame, I help individuals and couples understand the deeper patterns driving their challenges while building on their strengths, resilience, and capacity for connection. With specialized expertise in compulsive sexual behaviors, intimate betrayal, attachment, and with a Prodependence lens, I offer a compassionate, practical approach to lasting healing and growth.
What makes you different?
No. I am licensed to provide counseling services to clients located in Arizona, Ohio, and Wisconsin. If you live outside of those states, I may still be able to work with you through education, consultation, workshops, or professional training services, depending on your needs and local regulations. If you're unsure whether I can help, please reach out—I'd be happy to discuss your situation and explore available options.
Can you only see me if I live in Arizona?
How do I know if counseling is right for me?
You don't have to wait until life is falling apart to seek counseling. Many people come because they feel stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or simply want support navigating a difficult season. Counseling can help you better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and create the changes that matter most to you.
What can I expect during the first session?
The first session is simply an opportunity for us to get to know one another. If you've never been to therapy before, it's completely normal to feel a little nervous. We'll talk about what's bringing you in, discuss your goals, and explore your background so we can determine the best path forward together.
Do you provide counseling for faith-based clients?
Yes. While I work with individuals from all backgrounds and beliefs, I am happy to incorporate a client's faith, spirituality, and values into the counseling process when desired. I believe faith can be a powerful source of strength, healing, and hope, and I strive to honor the beliefs that are meaningful to each person.
What is compulsive sexual behavior disorder or sexual addiction?
Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder (CSBD), sometimes called sexual addiction, is more than a problem with sex—it is often a struggle with coping, connection, and emotional pain. People frequently feel stuck in patterns they genuinely want to change, yet find themselves returning to the same behaviors despite the impact on their relationships, self-esteem, and well-being. I believe people are far more than the behaviors they struggle with, and with understanding, support, and the right tools, recovery and meaningful change are absolutely possible.
How do I know if pornography has become a problem?
Pornography may have become a problem if it is creating consequences in your life, relationships, work, emotional well-being, or spiritual values, yet you continue to return to it despite your efforts to stop. Many people find themselves caught in a cycle of promises, shame, and repeated use. If pornography is causing distress, secrecy, or disconnection from the life you want to live, it may be worth exploring with a qualified professional.
What is intimate betrayal or betrayal trauma?
Betrayal trauma is the emotional injury that occurs when trust is broken in an intimate relationship. Whether the betrayal involves infidelity, secrecy, deception, or compulsive sexual behaviors, the impact can be profound and deeply disorienting. Healing begins with understanding what you've experienced, finding support, and learning how to move forward with greater clarity, strength, and hope.
Can a relationship recover after cheating?
Yes. While infidelity can be one of the most painful experiences a couple faces, many relationships not only survive but become stronger through the healing process. Recovery requires honesty, accountability, patience, and a willingness from both partners to do the difficult work of rebuilding trust and connection. Healing is not easy, but it is possible.
Do you provide therapist consultation and/or supervision?
Yes. I provide consultation and clinical supervision for therapists seeking support in areas such as compulsive sexual behaviors, betrayal trauma, couples work, ethics, program development, and clinical practice. I enjoy helping clinicians build confidence, deepen their skills, and provide effective, compassionate care to the clients they serve.
II have chosen not to participate with insurance plans so that treatment can be guided by your needs rather than insurance requirements. This allows for greater privacy, flexibility, and individualized care. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, I am happy to provide documentation you may submit for possible reimbursement.
Do you take insurance?
The best way to reach me is through the contact form on this website. You are also welcome to call or email my office, and I will respond as soon as possible - usually within 24 hours. I look forward to connecting with you and answering any questions you may have.
